Self-esteem is a global positive or negative feeling about one’s self. A person’s self-esteem reflects their overall emotional evaluation of their worth. It also is a judgment of oneself and an attitude toward the self. Self-esteem can cause a lot of problems in one s life if it becomes extremely negative. Studies have started to wonder whether self-esteem instability during pregnancy would better predict postnatal depression than the level of self-esteem. Self-esteem with pregnant women and mothers is one of the reasons why mothers have such a hard time with raising their children. Motherhood definitely should be a positive outcome and event in life, but it really can just be an emotional distress. This article about mothers getting postnatal depression disorder during the first three months after childbirth is a serious condition. I think it is an important part of in life to know about and know how to help it if a mother does get this. I have seen this issue happen in my family, and it is a critical part of life to know about.
